The cover of the inaugural issue of Art Miami Magazine features work by New York City-based abstract artist Doug Argue. The oil on canvas piece, titled "Night Poems," matches the tropical climate, sea, vibrancy and energy of Miami and will also be exhibited at this year's Art Miami fair.

THE ISOTROPIC NATURE OF MATTER
We are extremely delighted to present to our readers American artist Doug Argue and his awe-inspiring large scale paintings. Argue, who lives and works in New York, explores through this work the infinity of space and time, as well as the fragility and the constant transformation of all things that surround us.

VIDEO: DOUG ARGUE’S ART OF TRANSLATION
Abstract painter Doug Argue took a page from Herman Melville for his new exhibition, “The Art of Translation,” at Edelman Arts through the end of March. Working with a visual and conceptual subtext of letters, taken mostly from the text of Melville’s Moby Dick, Argue transforms these texts beyond their original form and gives them reinterpreted life and texture.
