Argue, who lives and works in New York, explores through this work the infinity of space and time, as well as the fragility and the constant transformation of all things that surround us.

Abstract painter Doug Argue took a page from Herman Melville for his new exhibition, “The Art of Translation,” at Edelman Arts through the end of March. Working with a visual and conceptual subtext of letters, taken mostly from the text of Melville’s Moby Dick, Argue transforms these texts beyond their original form and gives them reinterpreted life and texture.
